What numbers do you guys put in the Olympic lifs and the Olympic type of lifts?
5"10, 86.5Kg
Snatch 110/C&J 133Kg at a comp.
113Kg Snatch another comp
135Kg Clean at another comp
130Kg C&J training
135Kg C&J training
The 135Kg training C&J was about the first time I've PB in training in over 3yrs. I think the last time was when I C&J 115Kg.
Snatch from hang 90kg x 3reps : no straps
Jerk from rack: 120Kg : 2yrs ago
I don't test power stuff often
Power Clean: 122Kg : 5 days ago
Power Jerk: 115Kg : 2months ago
Power Snatch 95Kg : 2yrs ago
I've been lifting 6yrs, but had a long 9month injury that was Gymnastics and DL related that meant no vertical pressure on my spine.

Hey Koing, those are some good lifts, especially like those power cleans/snatches.
You already have an idea of my totals, but I just hit a front squat of 285lbs for 3X3 and did 306lbs for 3 reps about 2 weeks ago. I am looking forward to some bigger C&Js. Plus, I am finally starting to feel the bar hit the hips during the second pull on snatches, funny thing is when after a good rep like that, I can feel the pressure of the bar still in the upper thighs/hips when the lift is done.

you guys are animals compared to me holy shit.
C&J = 185 lbs so in kilos... about 80 kg?
Sn = 95 lbs. which is like 1 kilo.
Yeah i know I suck. But in my 8 months of training i have gone from hard suckage (like two dicks basically) with "the bar" to this. And it's terribly obvious that I focus more on Clean than snatch because... I don't know, i'm a pussy i suppose?
hope fully one day I can hit some decent numbers. This and my gymnastics habit fairly occupy my time along with BJJ/MT training.
Hey while im here, what's with my front squat? how do I ramp that shit up? I feel im limited by what I can come out of the hole with in Fr Sq. But my FR Sq sucks. Do I just train it constantly like Dan John Rx's?
Thanks for the help and the humility lads. I need to find a coach for this shit.

5"10 192 lbs
I dont wanna make you guys look too bad with these sweet numbers im about to post, but maybe now you'll know to come to me when you need some advice[sarcasm and then some] In reality, i just started using some Olympic movements this winter, and i really loved them. It turns out that Cleans were the thing i needed to finally make my calves grow.
Hang Clean - 185 lbs 5x3
Front Squat-245 lbs for a single
The weird thing about the hang cleans is that i can do 185 for reps, but as soon as i go over that weight, i start missing, its quite frustrating, any tips for busting through ?

I just learned the snatch, actually. I never would've attempted it, but my strength and conditioning teacher knows his shit. I worked my way up to 105#, but I'm still not comfortable enough with the form. I'm gonna have to steal some of those rubber plates from the varsity gym so I can practice off the floor. I do DB snatches with 70# for 3x5, not sure how that should translate.
I put C&J in my program about a month ago. I've only maxed once; I got up to 175 before I wore myself out. I think I took too long warming up. I can jerk 205. I want the coach to look at my clean, but I hurt my wrist so I wasn't able to do it last class.

It's different. I lift with a coach and a cool club so I have lots of guys about with me training and I work the OLifts religiously.
BP is I'm not great at :P etc.
Your best at what you focus on.
Snatch is very technical. Once you get a good basic you can get it a lot bigger.
Front squat every other leg session. Got to work hard at it.
Your probably not staying as upright as you can be so this will limit your front squat a lot. Work on it and it will go up in time. Becareful to not over do it! Some periods go lighter but ge the volume in. You can't go heavy all the time.
As an Olympic Weightlifting Coach can I say this to everyone here.
Keep training on technique, technique, technique. Keep training consistently on Olympics to improve. Improve your maximum strength levels. Yes a coach in Olympic Weightlifting helps. A lot!
My competitive lifts were:
Snatch... 130KG
Clean & Jerk...170KG back in 1980 at the old body weight class off 75KG.

So your struggling to do more then 185lbs for triples?
Focus on driving your hips and reaching full extension and PULLING UNDER THE BAR HARD AND FAST. Don't 'float down'. This will limit the amount of weight you will lift.
I Clean and Jerked 135Kg today in training at 86Kg. The video will be up in a few hrs when I get home.
Front squat: 142.5kg x 2reps (after 140kg x 3reps x 2sets; okay squats for an OLifter, seems more then a lot of guys but I squat 3x a week, mate has 150kg x 3reps!)
Back Squat: 160Kg
Hang PC: 100kg x 3reps
Technique work will help you lift a hell of a lot more.
But the basics is that if you can Snatch bodyweight that is a very solid lift. More so if you don't OLift often!
You got good lifts Kroll. My C&J is getting good now and racing onwards

Cool!
I just started training oly lifting on wed. last week. Today was the second session.
My technique blows prety damn hard, but the coach is patient and tollerant, and the other guys training are damn cool too.
Snatch- Yellow plates plus 5kg.
Clean and Jerk- Yellow, green, and 7.5 kg., failed at yellow and blue plates.
Body weight- 168.
Could one of you guys clue me in on the color coding of the plates?
depends on the brand i've found. I have blue 20 kilo plates though.
Thanks for the encouragement guys. Nothing is funner than o lifting. Plus it helps with everything. Gymnastics my vertical is way higher after only a month of power cleans. Wrestling my shot is way faster harder etc.
I believe the snatch is a touch to complex for me to really learn without a coach. I don't want to ingrain bad neuro-muscular patterns by "winging it" and shit. The clean on the other hand isn't as bad so... I go with it. this summer though I will go train with one of the guys around here who isn't retarded. One guy told me he totally could teach me the oly's. Then when I got there it was deadlift, reverse curl, and military press. I was like: *~~ (>_<) ~~*
So turns out an ACE cert doesn't mean they know how to actually lift. shit.

I haven't done much of anything involving the legs in a few weeks since I've been rehabbing a knee issue, but in the past I've gotten 180 lbs on the full clean and power clean both, but have only been able to get 160 lbs over my head. As for snatches I still haven't been able to teach myself the full snatch, and I've put up a whopping 125 lbs in the power snatch. Front squat was last 205 x 3 I believe. Height and BW are 5'9" and 160 lbs.

Here's a vid of some 70kgx3 hang cleans. Hopefully you could give tem so critique??
PS I don't know if you remember me off FI but I remember you. I tried to log on today and lets just say I know why you're here now!
I don't see the videos :(
I still post on FI. I'm here because my mate at work reads the articles here often and I decided to join up. I signed up and some f0cker had my name?! wtf?! Turns out it was me but I never used the account :P

Is that you hanley? Good lift. You put alot of football players at my school to shame.
Yup. C'est Moi. I mainly use hang cleans as a warm up to my deadlift days. It's not something I've ever put a lot of work into. Although the oly lifters in my gym are constantly on at me to do them...
Funniest thing was I did a Weightlifting comp decked out in powerlifting gear (Inzer tee, wrist wraps and lever belt and a pair of chucky T's) The looks I got were hilarious!
