Thanks buddy. Not sure what made me come here. This T-Cell forum seems cool though.

As I've gone up in weight with the DB Rows, I'm finding that I feel them *much* more when I'm at a higher angle-- leaning on the top db rack vs the lower one.

I really feel the stretch and the contraction more in my lats but with a lot less stress on my low back. That low-back stress is why I don't do BB rows very often, certainly not at a low angle.

Thats interesting, I'll have to try it that way. How is the weight you can use compared to bent over on a bench?

I'm the same way, because of my (apparent) t-rex arms. I don't like the angle of my back when doing them on a bench (pretty much parallel to the floor). I prefer to have my back at about a 45 degree angle.

I can row comparable weights at either angle. It's a "comfort" issue. I really feel an uncomfortable strain in my lower back around my former injury area. I can still do the weight, but it doesn't feel right.

I don't think I'm at the level of development that the angle will make much of a difference as I'm not going to be on a stage anytime soon. As long as I'm growing as a whole then I'm accomplishing the goal. Besides, there are ways to work around not hitting the back at that angle with dumbbells-- chest supported T-bars, etc.

These aren't pretty, but I certainly felt it afterward and my back was screaming. I start at low angle then move to the higher rack for support (these are after rack pulls so lower back is already fatigued):
