Sorry for a second post, but I also used the almond meal leftover to make low carb protein cookies. I can post the recipe if you want.

I'm always ready to hear a low-carb protein cookie recipe!

My morning shake is as follows:

2 scoops chocolate protien powder
Instant coffee
water
ice (crushed)
flax and fish oil

It tastest EXACTLY like a mocha frap but is good for you... instant coffee is god when it comes to these things..... plus I get my morning caffine fix...

Also, to starbucks credit they make pretty good oatmeal that I get sometimes during the day if I run out of it at work... they throw in a bag of almond slices too!

I have two variations, the first works better as cookie dough, the second can be baked.

2 scoops chocolate protein powder
1 egg
1/2 tbs butter
1 tbs safflower/ oil of your choice
2 pinches salt
1 tbs natty pb
a 20 cc scoop of splenda
Da Vinci's sugar free cookie dough syrup

Mix it in a bowl and you're good to go.

It's about 500 calories, 60 grams of protein, 3 carbs and 24ish grams of fat.

The version that can be baked is:
Preheat oven to 350

2 scoops chocolate (banana works well too) protein powder
2 eggs
1/2 tbs butter
1 tbs safflower/ oil of your choice
2 pinches salt
2 tbs natty pb
a 20 cc scoop of splenda
1 cup of almond meal/flour
Da Vinci's sugar free cookie dough syrup

Mix in big bowl.
Spread out on baking sheets, try to get them thin so that they outside will cook the same as the inside.
Bake for 15-25 minutes depending on how soft you want the cookies.

I tried the vanilla (sweetened) and chocolate almond milk with the instant coffee and as much as I'm a chocoholic, I liked the vanilla better.

Great idea since I'm lactose intolerant. I've had almond milk before but never thought to use it with coffee, it definitely adds a creamy taste to it.

Almond milk is farking awesome! Thanks for the tip. I'm one of those weird people who loves drinking regular milk but unfortunately it makes me bloat terrible. The almond milk is just as good, and the rest of the family likes it too so I think we're finally completely done with milk.

I can't stomach instant coffee though, even with almond milk. :( I just blend regular coffee with lots of ice cubes and add a little splenda & maybe some capella drops.

Chris, how about coconut milk or coconut cream for this recipe? Any thoughts?

I haven't been able to locate almond milk yet, so thought coconut milk would be a good option.

OK, went to a store to restock on greek yogurt and to also pick up more almond milk when I was reminded of something, hazelnut milk. Chris, have you tried it? Good stuff although the brand I tried several months ago seemed a bit runnier than almond milk (but not as much as rice milk). Both the almond and hazelnut milk was on sale for $1.99 so I made sure to get plenty.

Also, for those that haven't tried Rice Milk, it isn't bad. There is a Mexican version called Horchata that has a lot of spices (usually cinnamon but others can be added) in it with some sugar. I recommend making it at home, or buying a carton, and then just adding the spices while leaving out the sugar. Great served cold and on the rocks.

Any ideas on what to add to this to make a complete breakfast-in-a-bottle? I'm going to add in some vanilla protein powder, but I only have Grow! at the moment, so I'm looking for something to toss in there to give me some morning carbs. Any thoughts?

What if you are allergic to artificial sweeteners? I've been reducing requirements by 3/4 and using sugar, as any artificial, and even some natural (stevia) gives me raging migraines... Thoughts?

And I'm so trying some of your recipes. The tomato soup one is on my list for this weekend.

I just made this and it is DELICIOUS.

I used the unsweetened Vanilla flavour, and I just happened to have some Starbucks instant coffee packs at home (medium roast).

Friggin' heaven. I see myself having this a lot when summer hits. Thanks, Chris.
