All -
I'm the best man in my buddy's wedding, we are both 36. He has said he prefers Vegas.
I am tenatively planning it for the end of August. I expect between 5-10 guys to show up for it.
I need advice on Vegas, because I've never been there. Before you laugh, I've been all over the world - backpacked Europe, Africa, most of the USA - just never made it to Vegas.
So...I need advice. Any input is appreciated. Specifically, I'm looking for:
- best hotel to stay at for a bachelor party;
- best stuff to plan besides golf and gamble (although that's plenty);
- any experiences you had in Vegas for a bachelor party, or any time in Vegas, that you think are worthwhile looking into; and,
- anything else you can think of that you experienced at a bachelor party that you said to yourself, "hey, that's pretty cool."
Again, any input is appreciated.
Thanks! |

Just so you know, Hookers are illegal in Vegas. Any county with over 500,000people it is illegal.

Illegal or not, they're still fun.
Lots of illegal stuff out there, if you want to play it relatively safe. Stick to pharmecuticals |

Harrah's is always a good choice for a hotel...relatively inexpensive and close to everything IIRC |

If you meant "country" then get your facts right.
It's legal in Holland (population 16.5 Million) and it's technically legal in Canada, Philippines, Scotland, England, New Zealand and in Australia. (populations greater than 500'000)
If you don't believe me; http://www.sexwork.com/...trieslegal.html
If you meant "county" then I have no idea what you're on about and you can ignore the precedent.
So; either sort your life out or your grammar.

I would never pay for sex. I am on a mission to banish it from our streets.
Wait.
Hmmm. Oops. |

He meant county. It is legal in some counties in Nevada. |

You don't want to hire hookers you want to hire a hostess or two for your private party. The rest will work itself out and if one of the guys wants to bang the hostess he can make his own deal.
Hard Rock is the best place to hang for a bachelor party. It has a good vibe.
Want to do something really different and fun. Go to the Richard Petty driving experience. You can do a ride along with a pro driver or take the class and drive a stockcar on your own. Run anywhere from $100-350 per person. Even if you aren't a Nascar fan you will love this. Do it early. You have to be sober. |

Not sure what your budget is but I stayed at the Bellagio last july and loved it. a bit pricey but it's very nice and a bit less chaotic than some of the other hotels we walked through. And we rented a private poker room which made it even better, sort of like your own private party and once you get the room, getting girls to hook up with is pretty easy. For a cheaper option, the Hilton across the street is decent I stayed there a couple years ago and it served its purpose. you can also get good rates at Caesars Palace on the internet. As far was what to do, there really is no shortage of activities. a private gambling room is really the way to go if you can swing the cash. We had girls, booze, food, movies, a poker and blackjack table, hot tub everything. There are also of course tons of shows, clubs and other events around, you would be surprised at how many comedians and singers are still gainfully employed. If you ever asked yourself ``whatever happened to that guy?'' then go to vegas and you will get your answer. and stay away from the hookers. if you have any game at all you won't have any trouble hooking up with someone who doesn't charge by the hour |

Budget would be helpful... Does the group prefer to get bottle service in a trendy club or grab a pitcher and some wings? If you're going to do a club at all, it might be worth looking into buying VIP tickets ahead of time - not much more than cover + you don't have to wait in line forever.
The pool is also a great way to spend your time - although I've always been in the spring and coming from the cold. Usually a fun party atmosphere, and a great break if your getting killed at the tables. |

I just got back from a bachelor party in Vegas. We had a penthouse suite at the Belaggio. I highly suggest that. It is affordable and a great place to bring broads back to to party. There is a fridge you can keep stocked with beer and a full wet bar to keep your booze. Dolby 5.1 stereo surround with iPod jack for rock music. There is also room for about 30 people to drink and party without it feeling cramped. Everything you need to have a blast. Plus, the pool at the Belaggio is pretty nice, and the Belaggio brunch buffet is fucking sick and only about $16/person.
Entertainment:
1) Spearmint Rhino - This is the best strip club that I've ever been to in the US. It is a must for at least one night. Usually getting a limo and telling them you're with a bachelor party will get you free cover into the club. There will be a lot of taxi drivers that will try to convince you to go to other clubs by offering anything from free drinks to telling you the girls will fuck you for $50. They are lying. Say no thank you and go to the Rhino.
2) Cirque du Soleil - I have seen Ka, Le Reve, and Love. My two favorites were Ka and Le Reve. You should see at least one of these, it is amazing stuff.
3) The Gun Store - You can go here and shoot automatic weapons for around 30 min for less than $100. It is awesome. Go on a Tuesday or Wednesday to avoid the crowds.
4) Gambling - I like to gamble for cheap to maximize free drinks and socialize with people. For that reason, Fremont Street is pretty good, you can play blackjack for $5-10 a hand and get fed drinks at a steady pace.
5) Rehab - This is the best party Vegas has to offer. It is a pool party held every week on Sunday at The Hard Rock. It seems like every stripper in Nevada comes here immediately after working Saturday night. It is hard for guys to get in though (unless you stay at the Hard Rock), so go early. |

Thanks Hedo, Horatio and Steel Nation.
That's some good input. I'm liking the Hard Rock, the Gun Store, a little Richard Petty, some Spearmint Rhino, and some Cirque du Soleil. That...along with hookers...and beer...and gambling.....would make a good party.
I was also considering Key West, only because I've been there a half dozen times and know it like the back of my hand. But I think my buddy likes Vegas.
Any more input is appreciated.

No we in the US divide our states into counties(yes counties). In Nevada, if the county population exceeds 500,000 people, Hookers are illegal. But if you visit Vegas, they have free newspapers and ads for escort services. But you should probably just check out a hotel.
Ah I see this has been cleared up.
Damn all these ideas... |

Key West is for men that like to hold hands. Keep it in Vegas.
I think one of the burlesque shows would be cool too. Kind of like going to a strip club but without the hassle of being haggled for dollar bills. |

when i was in vegas i stayed that the luxor(the pyramid) depending on how drunk you plan on getting there are probably better places, but the elevators go sideways and when your drunk it can get really scary. The one beside us that is like a castle looked pretty sweet though. |

The problem with hotels that far up The Strip is that you will have to cab it almost everywhere. I like being in the thick of things (Belaggio, Caesar's, MGM, etc.). But that's me.
The new City Center they are building right now is going to be insanely awesome when it's finished. |
