I went from 135 lbs. soaking wet with rocks in my pocket, to the 220 lb. guy you see here.
I believe Morepain said this; "Time is the key ingredient" in bodybuilding/weightlifting.
It took a little over ten years and ALOT of hard work, but it CAN be done!
Granted, these days I'm NOT natural, but I'm reaching for 300lbs bodyweight and my frame WON'T do that naturally.
For the most part, I posted this for a laugh at myself. I couldn't believe how sick I looked until I stumbled across these pictures today. My daughter's getting married and she needs old photographs for the reception. My wife and I found these while looking and pissed our pants laughing, I look like I have aids, LOL.
Please note the OVERSIZE glasses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Somehow the "BEFORE" picture got deleted, please see my next reply in this thread for the "BEFORE" That's when the laughing will start, be gentle with me, I have feelings, you know! |

Ty, thanks for the encouragement and compliment. The best part was omitted here somehow, the "BEFORE" picture! This is ME before I began lifting 20 years ago, I thought I looked good, LMFAO! I think I looked like a frigging AIDS victim! |

What are your best lifts?
I'm not sure that you'll like this answer, but I don't do max lifts often. I'm heading on 50 years old and I don't heal so fast anymore. I presently do my last set of benches with 325lbs for 8 reps, I lift ascending weights.
My squat is only around 400 lbs for reps, again, getting old. I military press 220lbs for reps, I shrug 300 lbs for reps....etc... I could go on, but it's pointless. my goal is size.
I lift more for size than strength these days. A certain amount of strength happens to accompany the size, but it's not my main focus at this point. I'm a new Grandfather as most of the vets here know and my goal is just to be a huge Grandpa that my Grandson can brag about, LOL. If I had to lay down and give it my all, I would say close to 400lbs bench 1 rep max. |

I appreciate the compliment (that I look strong), but am not sure I look scary.?.
I'm a warm, fuzzy, cuddly, caring, tender individual with deep emotions.
LMAO..................................
Note: After REPEATED requests to stop, my wife STILL uses my weight room for clothes drying!!!!!!!!1 |

hey and at least your weight room/laundry room gets used. I know lots of folks who use their treadmills as a clothes hanger because they never use it.

*Looks at display pic*
I was about to say it is hard to turn into a dog, I don't think anyone can do it.
Looking large, gives us light guys something to really strive for and learn to be patient. |

When did you start lifting? You look fairly old in that picture of you before you began. |

I didn't start lifting with any kind of consistency until I was 35-36 years old (about 14 years ago). I didn't have any kind of dedicated routine until about 8-10 years ago.
I am presently undergoing a "metomorphisis" of sorts. I've been working out alone in my modest home gym the entire time and have not had access to any of today's new equipment.
My wife purchased a gym membership for me for Christmas. I've been faithfully hitting the gym every day and making GREAT progress. I have new found soreness in most of my muscles and I am visibly seeing physical improvements. I'm 49 years old, but my "workout partner" is 22 years old and an aspiring bodybuilder at 5'8" tall and 207 lbs ripped! He's been driving me harder than I usually push myself at home. I predict a fairly major transformation in my physique in the next year or so. I will post some recent photos when I can.
To my buddy in College Point, good luck with your shoulder and talk soon. ;)

Also note; what you can't see in the avatar is that I've been neutered as well! |

Very inspirational man. How long were you natural, and how much size did you put on? |

I was natural up to about 4 years ago and I went from 137 lbs to over 200 lbs naturally.
I'm only 5'6" tall and was having trouble packing anything more on naturally and also, a blood test revealed that I had low test levels and was put on Androgel. I hated the Androgel and soon afterwards began " uh hum, self medicating" |
