NEW! Metabolic Drive COMPLETE!
by TC
06/02/06

Question TC, so is Metabolic Drive Complete geared more for a man? Whereas, Metabolic Drive(regular, I guess now) is what women want to continue using? I noticed it has a higher fat and carb content than the "old" Metabolic Drive. Thanks for more great products. You guys are great!

YES! My prayers have finally been answered! Grow!... erm Metabolic Drive Complete is back!

So is there a chance that there's going to be a lower quality Grow! MRP in the future?

No, it's not geared specifically to men..

Lynne, this is meant to be a complete meal, whereas Low-Carb Metabolic Drive is a protein supplement.

However, if a person was more interested in gaining mass than losing fat, he or she might use Metabolic Dive Complete as a "weight gain" powder.

This stuff is so far ahead of what Classic Grow! was it is almost silly. If the price is that much of an issue for you, then make it yourself, which is so easy with maltodextrin being $2 a pound.

Premium whey + maltodextrin + milk = Classic Grow!

There you go for anyone that thinks the new stuff is pricey.

TC, great job on the refresh; looking forward to trying it.

Nice TC, its good to see you guys branching into a variety of protein powders. I like the idea of options.

It's like asking someone why they buy a BMW over a Daewoo and comparing

1 Car
13,000

1 Car
43,000

If you can't understand why this stuff is more expensive there is currently a solution. The 5lb tub of Grow! Whey.

I thought that was pretty clear?

Good lord this stuff look damn good. I LOVE the additon of the complex carbs and fiber, NICE work something that is largely forgotten in diets today in general and hell in an MRP, unseen.

Cant wait to get my hands on some

Exactly right. More expensive ingredients, thus a higher cost. It makes perfect sense. Look at it this way: Low Carb Metabolic Drive is $25.99 for 27 servings, each with 20 grams of protein.

Metabolic Drive Complete has 20 servings (half the serving size) with 20 grams of protein for $27.99. The extra cost comes from the additional ingredients in Complete. If the extra ingredients aren't worth the extra price for some people, they can keep buying the Low
Carb version.

It's even simpler than that... I believe the serving size is now 1 scoop bigger.

I don't remember if the old Grow! was 3 scoops or not though, so i could be wrong.

That's kinda what I had in mind when I asked 'em when the Biotest Premium Quality Food was gonna hit the shelves over on the "Whey Usage Ideas" thread.

Biotest Bovinity!(tm) - it ain't no extract, or some kinda fancy-schmancy meat-like product -- this is a 100% real, LIVE fuckin' Biotest Bull! (so watch where ya step, dude).
Biotest not responsible for care and feeding once product leaves warehouse. So if ya want to live in a highly anabolic environment, without the added expense of feed and vet-care bills, it is suggested that you just knock the horns off, shave its ass, and grill the fucker as soon as it arrives.

oh, and yeah... I had kinda sworn-off MRPs, due to spending a LOT of money just to end up being bloated and constipated (that's a fun combo), but I'll give Metabolic Drive Complete a try.

The product does seem quite impressive... It will be interesting to see how the product performs.

Right now it seems like a very good concept. Cold fusion was a breakthrough concept intially... hopefully MBC won't share its commercial viability.

How does the new Metabolic Drive Complete fit into Berardi's Precision Nutrition? Can I use it as one, probably two, of my meals during the day, or should I refrain because of the extra carbs? Would this be considered a PW shake? or an anytime?

Well there is barely, oats, and wheat in it, so I imagine it would be considered post workout because of the "other" carbs.

Could you use it as a PW shake? Sure, but it is a MRP, which stands for Meal Replacement Powders. I plan on using it an hour after my Surge.

For a PW Shake, you want something like Surge which causes an insulin Spike, whereas, Metabolic Drive Complete was designed for a MRP and help in insulin management...

...in addition to slowing absorption and thus ensuring a smooth insulin profile.

I think the original poster was asking if this could be used as a post-workout meal within the 1-2 period after taking in Surge or an equivalent. In other words, downing a serving of Surge, waiting 1 hour or so, then hitting a serving of this product in lieu of a solid meal like chicken and brown rice.

Hey, thanks to all those that answered the questions about price.

Yes, it simply costs more to make. It contains appreciable amounts of micellar casein, as well as probiotics, functional carbs, etc.

The average price-per-serving is on par (a little less than some, a little more than others) with most "meal replacement" powders.

I happen to think ours is a whole lot higher quality than the rest of them, though.

Functional carbs--are these what Bruce Lee ate?

ha ha

The powder sounds great- best "meal" I can think of that takes less than a minute to prepare.

Probably. Besides, green protein is kind of a turn off.

That's not to say we aren't looking at doing a Greens Plus-type product ourselves.

Actually not, however, I did suggest I would be using Metabolic Drive Complete an hour or so after my Surge...

this is what halfpintdd asked
