Very interesting read. Somewhat different from my experiences in the Middle East. I can vouch though that in many places gear is availiable right in the local pharmacies. Also, the "body builders" I met there didn't have much of a clue about supplements.
They all took protein and creatine, along with test. They would take 1000mg of Sust 250 every other week and several of the college educated ones asked me if I could get them the medicine Americans take to make their bones grow, haha. Completely different culture though, night and day. It's like taking a time machine back to the Middle Ages. Nice find TC! |

I found that amazingly interesting. Dubai interests me alot and I plan to travel there in the future.
I knew they were strict, but damn 3 lines in a Mcdonalds for single men, married people and families? I guess you'd get arrested if you went in the wrong line by accident...haha |

Good read. The construction industry in Dubai is now suffering as many consultants were over geared so when many of the developers pulled the plug on some of the crazy projects people had to be laid off. |

Very good article.
If you can be arrested in Saudi Arabia for having lunch with a woman who is not your wife, daughter, or sister how do people meet and get married? Is everything arraigned? Glad I live in the good ole U. S. of A.

Great article!! I've been slowly looking into going out there soon to work in the fitness industry too. Just finished my degree and the wages i've been quoted make it a very tempting prospect for someone weighed down by debts post university!!!
On the other note i agree it was real interesting to hear a new point of view, i love travelling and stuff so gettin to here stories from trainers places other than America and the UK is very refreshing! |

Interesting article, except for the money, dubai seems like the worst place to live on earth...at least for me. |

Great article. I've spent some time in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and this brought back some memories.
I was stopped by customs in the airport once and the guy going through my luggage spots a bag of protein supp and asks "what's this?" I'd never had any trouble there, but I immediately got nervous. Who knows what this guy is thinking.
I tell him it is protein and he's okay with that. Phew. Then he spots a container of vitamins and he's like "more protein?" with a bit of a smile. I explain that it's just vitamins and that's cool too. Then the guy flexes at me (I swear) and lets me go.

Real interesting interview, I couldn't live over there though. I just don't know, would be real hard to lets say "satisify" some natural urges us westerners are so used to getting relatively easy. |

I've often thought about living in Dubai for a period of time. I'm going to agree with Carlitosway about the "Western Urges"
Great read, Thanks. |

Great article. Proves once again that money talks louder than Allah. If a shiek wants it, he just out bids God for it. |

Excellent article.
"I had a colleague from Australia attempt to step into an elevator that was already occupied by a Saudi guy and his wife. The guy went nuts. He started screaming, "How dare you insult my wife! How dare you insult my family!"
Typical. F*cking saudis and their holier-than-thou attitude to foreigners. Yes, I am aware that I'm making generalizations but for every decent saudi guy that I have met, I have come across 20 others that are just grade A assholes. I can say that with certainty because I have lived in Saudi Arabia for 18 years.
No longer live there anymore. I'm just ITCHING for a saudi guy to start some shit with me here. Something they love to do with foreigners in their country. But when they come overseas and become foreginers, all the machismo disappears in a second, spineless cowards that they are. |
