All -
As of the last time I checked, the majority of the DVD's have been received and will be available for purchase very soon! Please stay tuned and as soon as they are available, I will post something on here.
Now, a lot of you have had questions as to what it's about, who can benefit from it, etc. Here's a quick overview from the back cover:
"Magnificient Mobility" marks a revolution in preparation for competition, training, and rehabilitation. Old-school methods of preparation such as light cardio and static stretching are things of the past; these inefficient, ineffective traditionalist approaches simply won't prepare you for superior performance! In addition to serving as a great warm-up, the drills contained in this DVD will improve joint mobility, an important, yet often-overlooked quality necessary for optimal health and performance.
In this information-packed DVD, Eric Cressey and Mike Robertson give you all the tools necessary to teach your body to move more safely, efficiently, and powerfully. With over 30 exercises and the rationale for their use included, you're guaranteed to find drills to get you healthy and take your performance to the next level!
As well, here's a few quick hits that I'm sure you all will be interested in:
- 50 minutes of viewing footage
- A "Crash Course" as to why dynamic flex exercises trump all others when it comes to warming-up
- 30+ dynamic flex and mobility exercises that address every major muscle group in the body
- Ways to loosen up and stretch all the typicaly "problem areas" such as the muscles around the low back, knees and hips
- The 3 static stretches that can be done pre-workout in conjunction with the dynamic flex exercises we outlined
- A highlighted model before each exercise to show what areas will be either stretched and/or activated
- "Coaching cues" at the end of each movement to make sure you are doing them properly and getting maximum benefit
As well, I'm going to use this thread to post the thoughts and critical reviews from leaders in our industry. As you may well know, Eric and I sent out 25 "pre-release" copies to find out what the best and brightest in the industry think. We'll be constantly updating the thread as we get more and more feedback from them.
Simply put, we firmly believe this DVD is going to change the way you think about flexibility, warming-up, and getting and staying healthy for a long time to come. We hope you enjoy it!
Stay strong
Mike

Can't wait mate...been looking forward to it for a while now.
Just looking at the cover...doesn't seem do be much use of spandex...what's with that....there is no workout video that can't be made more informative and attractive through the generous use of synthetic materials...those models don't look too hot either....is that so people focus just on the exercises?? |

Trust me guys; as soon as we know definites, we'll let you know.
As well, let's try and keep this thread solely to reviews and pertinent info; I don't want it spiraling out of control like the "Test Fest" threads. If you have a question, we can either start a Q&A thread, or feel free to contact either Eric or I via e-mail or PM. Thanks!

I was fortunate enough to get an advanced copy of the Magnificent Mobility DVD and I want to congratulate Mike and Eric on producing such a professional, high quality product.
The DVD is packed full of dynamic mobility drills that if performed regularly, should help to improve your performance and reduce injury risk.
Things that I liked about the DVD:
1. The video footage of the drills is very high quality and accompanied by audio explanation. I think the quality of the video and sound is the first thing you notice.
2. The drills are broken down into 3 difficulty levels, which allows you to start an athlete/patient/client at the appropriate level and then progress them as needed.
3. The drills are very comprehensive in nature and really work on the low back/hip and lower extremity kinetic chain. This should really make a difference in squats/deadlifts/cleans/snatches etc. A lot of injuries and poor performance on these lifts are due to the inability of the athlete to either attain or maintain proper technique. This is often caused by poor mobility in the hips or lower extemity kinetic chain. These drills if performed consistently should eliminate those issues.
4. The DVD can be watched all at once or you have the ability to select individual drills. This is a nice feature as you will definitely want to watch several of the drills multiple times. Plus it offers a quick way to review drills you may want to progress an athlete to.
5. The drills can be performed in a short period of time and do not require any special equipment.
Other than that, I don't remember if you can print a list of the exercises or any pictures of the drills to take to the gym with you. If not, you may want to write down the name of the exercises and a 'cue' to remind yourself how to perform them. This would make sure you remember what to do until it becomes second nature.
I think the Magnificent Mobility DVD is an excellent resource to add to your library. Whether you are a coach, personal trainer, lifter or other athlete, you can benefit from the information and drills on the DVD.
Once again, great job guys.
Oh, and in the interest of full disclosure, I have no financial stake in this product.
Take care,
Ryan |

I was one of the fortunate few to obtain a pre-release copy of Eric Cressey and Mike Robertson's new Magnificent Mobility DVD. If you've read Eric and Mike's stuff you know that these are 2 coaches who know what they are talking about and consistently put out quality information to coaches, athletes, trainers, therapists, etc. This DVD falls right in line with their articles that they have written.
The DVD highlights Dynamic flexibility and how to properly warm-up for a training session, practice or game. There a number of different exercises geared to activating, lengthening, or mobilizing different areas of the body. There is a great deal of attention shown towards the hips, which is a vital area for all of us to mobilize.
The best feature of the DVD was the high production quality and the different angles of the exercises shown. The video as well as the audio is great and the exercises are easy to see and learn. The coaching cues and highlighted body areas are very beneficial to those interested in knowing the "why's" of the various exercises.
The DVD is easy to navigate and is broken down into 3 levels of exercises, which is ideal for beginners to advanced athletes. Each and everybody can and will learn something from this DVD and should be in included in every coach's library.

Definitely a fan of the Dyna Flex approach to the warm-up.
Since working with Cressey I can say it is one of the additions to my programs that definitely gives results.
Everything just seems to "fire" better after these warm-ups. |

I too was fortunate enough to view an advance copy of "Magnificent Mobility". Whether you're a strength coach, personal trainer, or just your everyday "weekend warrior"....EVERYONE will find some form of benefit with utilizing this great resource and implementing it into their client's training or their own training. Both Eric and Mike (otherwise known as E-Rob) back up their rationale with sound, up-to-date, practical and scientifically proven information in a format that is easy to follow and comprehend. The sound quality is superb (IE...you can cleary hear exercise descriptions) and the picture quality is first rate. As Brijesh and Dr. Ryan (as well as the other posters above) have alluded to....Eric and Mike have really come up with an outstanding product
Dynamic flexibility has a plethora of benefits and if you're in the camp that has never heard of it or have just never really felt you needed to try it, this dvd would be an invaluable addition to your training library. |

I second that opinion, I've made significant progress in a very short time while working with Eric and I believe the addition of Dynamic flexibility drills to my program have a lot to do with my progress. |

Mike & Eric -
First of all, I am grateful you guys gave me the opportunity to review your DVD.
I am actually just finishing watching the DVD and performed well over 1/2 of them as I watched. It is the day after I competed in the TSC (tactical strength challenge) and my low back is hammered.
I feel MUCH better after the exercises.
here are my thoughts (but not all as more are coming)
1) I NEEDED this video PERSONALLY as well as for my athletes. After almost 20 years of hard lifting and time spent in wrestling or grappling my body is not always feeling it's best. Watching you guys perform the movements with great ROM was an eye opener and showed me how it looks when someone spends regular time on these mobility exercises.
2) because I train predominantly combat athletes (Football players and Wrestlers), they too have amassed numerous imbalances and problems with flexibility which as you know limits their true potential.
3) I'll be the first to admit that my weakness in knowledge is in the department of rehab / restoration and mobility and I feel much better in my ability to help my athletes that much more.
4) The anatomy models and the review of each movement is top notch as well as your thorough voice over explanations.
5) This info is easy to implement on self and athletes and you guys did a kick ass job of discussing do's / don't's of each movement, which allows the individual differences of each athlete to be addressed.
Bottom line: I can used this info easily and immediately on myself and my athletes.
This dvd is key for any coach or athlete b/c inevitably we get injured. If you want to reduce your likelihood / severity of injuries then regular mobility training is key.
Why am I so easily sold here? After two knee surgeries, a shoulder tear, and a body that is tighter than all heck, I NEED this to keep me healthy!
Can't thank you two nerds enough :)
I'm grateful to have friends like you guys who are open to helping me become better at what I do.
I hope I cna help you guys in the same manner one day as well.
Best,
Zach Even - Esh |

Just posted this in the Test Fest thread, but if anyone in attendance is interested in picking up a copy, Eric and I will both have DVD's for sale.
If you could, shoot one of us an e-mail so we have a ball-park idea of how many to bring.

I don't know - from the cover it looks like Cressey and Robertson are doing the modelling. Do you really want to see these guys in ANY stage of naked, semi or otherwise? :-)
This one is on my to buy list. I hate plain-old stretching, but I know about the importance of mobility and joint health. Especially since today I turned 38. Excuse me while I trim the hair in my ears. |

Looking forward to the DVD. As per the cover, where does the ten minutes come in? Does the DVD give insight into making a ten minute mobility routine? |

Guys, I've seen an advance copy and this is an excellent product. A nice combo of what drills to do and the rationale behind the drills. |
