Any recommendations for a training brief for someone who competes raw? I'd like to find a good brief that can help keep my hips and groin safe during training but not get my raw card revoked. Thoughts?
Maybe try some Rehbands? I bought a pair and like them a lot. I don't really notice much carryover, but my hips feel a lot better the day after.

That's not a bad idea. I've heard good things about them, so I will look into it. The Inzer Power pants also sound like a good option. Thanks to both of you guys for the info! |

Just jacked my back and hip on a deadlift session on Tuesday. So I'm in rehab right now. I just put in a order for some inzer briefs so when I go back I will still be doing 5/3/1 but at 41 I'm not doing heavy deadlifts or squats without briefs anymore. Just not in the cards for me ITs better to stay healthy. Anyone had any experience with lower back/hip injuries and if so what type of briefs helped you back? |

Bump for this. I have a minor abdominal tear and would like to know about this also. Not looking for bigger lifts out of the briefs, just for my injury really. |

Gear being reviewed
BOSS BRIEFS.
GEAR EXPERIENCE: ALL SINGLE PLY TITAN GEAR.
PROS:
carry over is sick on these. I managed to get almost 50lbs more than I got out of a brand new single ply suit with the straps up and knee wraps. they ride really high on the stomach so no prob belting these at all.
cons: very hard to break in. they rip you to shreads over and over again. It has taken me 3 weeks to break them in and even then they still have some work to do. Its very hard to do speed work with these because it takes so much to get down. I still cant wear them without my suit slippers or belt them for speed work. they are a pain to get on and off.
If you buy these get them bigger. I wear a 46 single ply and I wear a 48 in these and its tight as hell taking me well over 1 hour to get them on the first couple of times mostly because there is nothing to pull on to get them up. I can see it being very hard to hit depth with a suit over these.
the rebound at the bottom isnt good if you get out of the groove aka: arent sitting back and your knees calapse. you wont get up.
definitly not a bigginner 2 ply brief. It has tons of stopping power so keep that it mind.
Like all titan gear it stretches sooner or later. I am prob gonna have the hips taken in in prob 3 months and have the back grind stitched.
Even with all the negative I still recommend these briefs if you can deal with the hassle. they really are built to last and give amazing support. |

Stats
Best Lifts: Squat:832 BP: 633 Dl: 661 total: 2120
Gear Experience: 6 years
Equipment being reviewed: Overkill Briefs
Pros: Custom only, unreal spring rebound, and stopping power.
Cons: hard to get in by yourself. May take an adjustment to get perfect fit
Comparison: These are the best briefs I have ever used. In the past I have done well in Metal ACE and then the Titan Boss briefs. My overkill triple ply custom briefs are an excellent coompliment to the Overkill canvas (or any suit for that matter). I have never experienced more stability and speed in my career.
Thoughts: Even though all Overkill gear is 100% custom (no stock sizes) which means fitting and waiting for gear may be an issue. Any thing Rudy Rosales makes is worht th wait. Not to mention his prices out do everyone else's stock sizes.

Hey there Testdog, since you have all the Overkill gear and have used just about ever bench shirt, brief, and squat suit out there you should also give a review of the Overkill squat suit and bench shirt |

I know I made one of these already, but I want to review a suit
Best raw squat: 405
Gear being reviewed: Metal Viking IPF squatter
Pros. Awesome rebound, and it give good carryover in just the suit. You can also squat wide or narow with it. Takes me about 5 minutes to get on with just the suit and leg sliders.
Cons: gotta sit back HARD or else you're fucked. It is very tough to get my single ply breifs on with the suit and I dont know If Ill be able to get down in it w/ the straps up. |

How did you find the sizing on the suit? I'm looking into getting a regular stance Metal IPF squatter. I've heard to go a size over than what the chart recommends. The chart puts me at a 48, should I go for the 50?
Anyone? |

25 years old, 308 drug free, 10+ contests from SLP to AWPC worlds and everything in between.......
I might be able to offer a little on this...... I finally switched over from my old set up of Frantz canvas with ACE brief to an all overkill set up.... I have used everything from Metal IPF suits to Canvas and new generation poly stuff...... I switched to the Overkill hybrid suit because I liked the stopping power of canvas but wanted the stretch of poly to help me hit depth without having to leave my straps loose...... I hit a really easy 755 in the Ace/ Overkill combo at AWPC worlds this year with a back injury.... I worked up to a 917 squat in this combo and around a 670 squat in just the ACE briefs...... My wife got the overkill briefs and hit a HUGE pr so I got a set two weeks ago.... I haven't gone super heavy in full gear yet, but the 827 I took last weekend went up easy and I took the briefs easily to 650 before putting my suit on......
the briefs by themselves have a ton more pop than the Ace and a little less stopping power so they are still pretty easy to hit depth in.... the 3-ply briefs weigh a ton and are a bear to put on, but the results seem well worth it.....
My wife is 5'2" and competes as a 132.... with 2 pair ( 4-ply) of Frantz briefs and a Frantz canvas suit she hit 367 in the gym and an easy 320 in contest.... first she switched to the 2-ply overkill briefs and after 3 weeks to break them in she hit 367 for a double in just wraps and briefs..... a few weeks later she went 407 in the canvas and briefs...... Rudy switched her over to a 3-ply poly suit from Overkill on top of her briefs and she hit 447 her second week in it......
just to give you a few experiences with this stuff from 2 very different lifters...... |

Stats: 25, 181'er, 3 meets and a few years training
Best Lifts: 550 gym squat, 455 meet squat, 555 pull
Gear Experience: Inzer Leviathan, Titan Centurion, various metal briefs
Equipment being reviewed: Inzer Leviathan
Leviathan Pros: Ridiculous stopping power and a whole lot of rebound. I got my Leviathan in a trade for an Ace suit, so I really didnt know what the sizing would be or anything. Fortunately, the suit fit perfectly. Very tight, but I could use an old single ply suit underneath for some extra rebound.
This suit WILL lock up real hard. Getting depth is a real struggle. Prior to putting this on, I had not really handled weights above 500, so I didnt really know what to expect. But 550 unracked easily and absolutely rocketed up, and I hadnt even put the straps up yet! If you are a good box squatter, this suit will take you far.
Leviathan Cons: Hard to get on, even harder to get off! Takes a lot of weight to get depth. |
