you're right, taking steroids totally improves your striking/hand eye coordination/ and all other skill work! Man why isn't everyone taking steroids!?

Well..through the 80's an 90's most did. NESN estimates that outside kickers and QB's more than 90% of NFL players have used or are using steroids or HGH...

Sure, using PED may not improve your hand eye...but moving that bat just a LITTLE faster turns that foulball or pop fly into a Home run. But I guess Manny, A-rod, Sammy, Mark, Barry, and the other 2000 baseball players that tested positive did it for nothing right?

Please, stop being so fucking stupid.

A little off topic but corked baseball bats been proven to actually shorten the distance a person can hit a ball, so I guess all those players that used them did it for nothing then either... man baseball players must be idiots.

I would imagine pure strength would not have a significant impact on the outcome of an mma fight, but i dont know much about mma.

Valor, you can't be serious. I'm not saying steroids won't give you any advantage, I'm just saying it's not going to make me win a fight against anderson silva. They might help you recover, get bigger, or stronger, but all to a negligible effect if you're not doing the work. The way I see it, they allow an athlete to work harder, and still recover.

Good to see this post has expanded. Skills training is def a big part of mma, but when you take into account all other factors which usually determine the fight you can see how skills by itself will rarely win a fight.
When training for mma the following usually needs to addressed on a weekly basis -
Boxing/muay thai, Freestyle wrestling, Bjj, mma sparring, strength work, some sort of high intensty cardio.

When you add all these things into a training week - i can tell you recovery and being fresh for next session is everything. I agree they def wont make you beat silva in a fight because the comp levels are so different. But as competition gets more even such as if silva fought chael sonnen you can see the significant difference - thats the way i see it.

ITs not about the 'gains' you get in strength that athletes in MMA would use for
its for recovery.

recover faster= train harder and more often.

Ive seen steroids work against some people in a fight actually. Theres some guys i know who take steroids and dont even think about it, dont talk about it, dont get aggresive towards other peolpe etc etc...they reap the benefits but it doenst affect them mentally and they dont walk around like superman.....

on the other hand i know guys who as soon as they do a shot its iike they just got hit with the gamma rays from the incredible hulk movie and they try to lift lift like monsters and when they grapple they rush the other guy and do aggresive moves and attempt silly things because they think they have super juice flowing threw them.....

ive seen these type of guys get tapped fairly east because of their mindset that roids make them unstoppable....this all might sound kinda stupid but its really what ive noticed....
