So I used to eat nearly 6000 calories a day, right after I quit a long-term athletic lifestyle when I was around 13. I traded 120 LBS for 150 at age 15. Not a very fair trade. My skin used to break out a lot as well, and after a few summers I just started feeling really lazy and gross. So, here I am, whole new diet, whole new workout i'm commited too. Here are some before pictures, and the start of my food/workout journal.

Food:

7:30 AM
Created a giant smoothie
- 1 Banana
- 2 cups of strawberries
- Half a cup of skim milk
- 1 cap of canola oil

9:30 AM
Attempted to drink the rest of smoothie.
Failed.

11:00 AM
Finally finished smoothie.

12:30 PM
4 cups of steamed veggies
Part of a disgusting yogurt tube thing I never should have touched.

2:30 PM
Could only find an apple
1 apple
1 litre of water =D

4:00 PM
1 Turkey Breast
1 Banana

Workout

Started at 3:00 PM

3 x 10 Pull-Downs
20 seconds rest

3 x 10 Pull-Ups Assisted Dip
20 seconds rest

5 minutes on stairclimber
no rest, level 7 intensity

5 minutes on rowing machine
no rest

5 minutes on bike
no rest, level 6 resistance

10 bodyweight rows
no rest

10 smith machine elevated push ups

2 x 20 squats w/ 10 LBS barbell
1 minute rest

A little sad for my first day compared to before but, I have confidence. Now for the...befores

Day 2!

Today I didn't do a 'workout' I attended a restorative yoga class that focused on breathing and strengthening our connective tissue. Although I did feel some fatigue in my arms. I was really sore today and one of my goals is to increase flexibility, and I don't want to kill myself by working out every day so I figure while I'm not pumping iron I can stretch gracefully.

7:30 AM
Smoothie
- 1 Banana
- 2 cups of strawberries
- Half a cup of skim milk
- 1 cap of canola oil

9:30
Rest of Smoothie

11:00

3:00
Approx 1 Cup of Ground Beef
(measuring meet in cups is wierd)

You're eating too few calories, and you are eating too many carbs. Also you have meals consisting of pretty much *only* carbs which is a Very Bad Thing. While fruits and vegetables are healty, you need protein and fats to feel full and to control insulin levels.

Are you keeping a food log? If not, I'd suggest you start keeping one right away. Look up all the nutritional info on everything you eat, weigh it, and write it down. Know what you're eating. Also I would suggest you go to the articles section here and read up on everything diet related. It will take you a day or two to read it all, and at times you'll be confused as hell, but you'll come out of it with essential knowledge.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add, look at the MWA Physique Clinic here on the site. All 4 girls have different goals, and their training and diet is listed along with advice from the coaches here. Well worth a look both for education and for inspiration :)

Thanks for the comments! The thing about my eating plan is that I'm trying to almost do a cleanse. My previous diet consisted of probably 6000 calories a day and lots of skin breakouts, so I turned to a nearly-vegetarian diet so I could start over from scratch. Another thing is that It dosen't take much to fill me up, it took me nearly four hours to drink an 18 oz smoothie.

I appreciate the advice, and I have checked out a lot of the articles and the Physique Clinic for more information, and with this plan not only am I 15 pounds lighter than i was in november, but I feel a -lot- better. And my skin looks nicer too. Although I agree, I am a sugar fiend, and I'm weening myself off of oreos with grapes, and off of french fries with turnips. :P

The problem with eating like this over time though, is that you cannot keep it up indefinitely and when you start eating proper again you'll most likely gain weight - and quickly. And it's not going to be muscle. You're starving yourself, and ruining your metabolism.
